M4TM is all about music and features some of Tasmania's most brilliant performers performing as part of the quiz. The event is entirely written and researched (and MCed) by The Quizzer of Oz – David Walch.
Music for the Mission is a team quiz about music of all sorts. Teams answer questions in writing and then each round is marked by our scoring team. There are 8 rounds of 12 questions in the event.
Each year the questions feature a mix of recorded music, live music, video, images and text.
Each round of the quiz is named after a song or song lyric. No other detail is supplied to teams until the round commences.
Teams have a joker that allows them to select a round for which they will receive double points, but they only have the round title on which to base this decision. Teams are also allowed to buy the answer to 2 questions during the event.
State of the art technology is used to ensure all participants can see and hear everything and know exactly how their team is doing.
There is an enormous range of prizes for the successful teams (and other teams who finish in pre-selected positions down the rankings). As well as the quiz prizes we have an in-house raffle with sensational prizes, plenty of lucky door prizes, random spot prizes, early bird cryptic competitions for those who like to get there as the doors open, lucky envelopes to purchase and a sensational silent auction in which you can bid for music memorabilia from the world’s biggest names, plus holidays, musical instruments and plenty of other great items!
Put all this together and you see why Music for the Mission has become a "must-do" event for many Tasmanians.
